Stonehaven ladies trophy night
It was the Stonehaven Golf Club ladies prizegiving on Saturday night and a healthy 42 ladies attended. The buffet was excellent with everyone going round at least twice and the evening finished with plenty of dancing and hilarity. Also on the night an excellent £139.06 was raised for breast cancer. The men enjoyed excellent weather for their weekend winter league competitions. In the doubles scratch section there were eight scores below par with youngsters Scott Murray and Josh Halliday topping the leaderboard with a fine 60.
In joint second place with a 63 were Alistair Duncan and Brian Hunter, Kenny Duncan and Ian Wood and Graeme Adamson who was playing on his own in the absence of his playing partner Willie Pittendreigh.
In the doubles handicap section Scott and Josh were joined at the top by Kenny Duncan and Ian Wood with a nett 56.
In joint 3rd place were Ludwik Metelski and Chis Taylor and Stewart Allsop and Brian Lawson with a nett 57.
In the singles competition there were five players with 40 points or more. Best score was Steve McGhie with 43 points. Chris Taylor was one point behind in second place with Jim Lonie and Barry McGillivray in third place with 41 points.
