Luthermuir beat rivals

Luthermuir Women got back to league duty by entertaining local team Forfar Farmington Ladies. Luthermuir had a strong squad with some girls missing out on the selected 18.

A good crowd had gathered and Luthermuir took an early lead. A Bruce free-kick was headed on by Lynch and fired home by Murison from inside the six yard box.

Luthermuir doubled their lead in ten minutes. Murison darted towards goal and coolly slotted it over the keeper.

Luthermuir continued to control the game giving very few chances to the Forfar attackers. On 18 minutes a corner from the left was fired over by Bruce and was just headed wide by Boyack. Another free kick 30 yards out on the right was fired just past the post by Bruce.

Boyack again headed just wide, then the final chance of the half came on 41 minutes when a corner was fizzed over by Bruce and Oliphant just failed to head on target.

Luthermuir started the second half where they left off and in 48 minutes Murison fired in a corner and the ball was knocked against the post by Boyack and scrambled away.

In 55 minutes another free kick 35 yards out was fired over the helpless keeper by Oliphant for a wonderful strike for 3-0.

Luthermuir were continuing to dominate their opponents and another chance was created on 59 minutes. Bruce raced clear on goal and fired her shot just wide of the post.

It was 4-0 when a Bruce free-kick found the net despite the efforts of a defender to head clear.

in 71 minutes a free kick was played in by Oliphant and Boyack headed into the keeper,s arms. Another free kick out on the left was fizzed over by Bruce and Oliphant got there before anyone else to fire home for 5-0.

On 78 minutes a great ball by the hard working Murison was played into the on rushing Barker on the edge of the box but her shot went just wide.

The final chance came in 87 minutes when Murison fired over a great corner and it was headed just over by Reoch.

Luthermuir had dominated the game from start to finish and were pleased with a great team performance and now look forward to an away game against Falkirk next in the league.
