Brush off the cobwebs and run off the excesses of Christmas with the first Mar Orienteering Club (Maroc) event of the year at Glen O Dee, Banchory.
The very popular event this Sunday, January 11, will host a full range of colour-coded courses suitable for all ages from beginners through to experienced orienteers.
Everyone is welcome - courses can be taken at your own pace at a walk, jog or run.
This is a great opportunity to venture outdoors with all the family, so head along and try something new!
The organisers hope to have Banchory Schools Orienteering Club (BSOC) providing hot soup, veg chilli, tea, coffee and home baking to help raise money for their trip to the World Schools Orienteering Championships in Antalya, Turkey, in April.
Parking will be at the Burnett Park, Glassel Road, Banchory. Owing to limited space, participantsd have been asked to park neatly and share transport if possible.
Registration is from 10.30am to 12.30pm at the Burnett Park Pavillion (start times from 11am to 1pm). See www.marocscotland.org.uk/home/fixtures for further details.
The Deeside Night Cup (orienteering by head torch!) also continues after a short break over the festive season.
The first event of 2015 was held yesterday (Wednesday) at Bridge of Bogendreip, 2 km from Strachan towards Cairn O’ Mount.
Details of this and future Cup events can be found on www.dncchat.wordpress.com.
