A sizeable Scottish contingent attended the NSRA’s National Rifle meeting at Bisley with former Stonehaven man and former Mackie Academy pupil, William ‘Bill’ Baird, doing well at the meet.

William, the son of late Stonehaven shooter Ian Baird, triumphed in the ‘Roberts’ for the British Championship with a card at 100 yards and 198 with a single eight in rough, windy and wet conditions.

William, formerly of the Bon Accord Club, is now with Havant Club.
