The final of the Senior Top Nine Competition last Thursday proved a disappointment for the Stoney team, losing by four points to two to Kittybrewster who mastered the atrocious conditions better and were worthy winners.
Bob Harrison’s rink had a good win but a narrow defeat for the pair led by Jim Roddie and a heavy defeat for the triple skipped by John Lawson proved their undoing.
The season will end after the Bellhaven Sponsored Triples Competition on the weekend of September 20 and then the following Saturday (27th) the club will host the prizegiving ceremony.
Last weekend, Stonehaven Bowling Club also held a Champion of Champions singles competition.
Winner of the mens competition was David Keith, from Bervie and runner up was Bill Russell from Laurencekirk.
Ladies winner was Stephanie Simpson from Bervie and runner up was Sheila Rumbles from Ballater.
Omega Completion Technology Ltd were the sponsors of the competition and a big thank you Richard Pyper who presented the prizes on behalf of the company.
