The winter League competition effectively got under way last weekend after the previous week being almost washed out, with only the most die-hard of golfers taking to the course on the Saturday.
In nice autumnal conditions, Saturday was to be the better of the two days for scoring, and this proved to be the case none more than in the singles with Tom Hart scoring 44 stableford points, five points clear of nearest rivals Doug Barnard, Chris Taylor and Paul McWhirter.
In the scratch doubles, leaders in the clubhouse were Neil Irvine and Harry Roulston scoring a gross 61 - one better than Stuart Dempster and Barry McGillivary.
One shot further back were the pairings of Robb and McFarlane and Pittendreigh and Adamson. Dependant on how the season pans out notable nett scores were Ian Hastie and John Starrs with a nett 57 and also Craig McKay and Jim Hepburn who had a nett 58.
Members attending the men’s smoker on November 9 are reminded that ticket money should be paid by Monday, November 4, to secure their ticket.
Note the clubhouse closes at 5pm during the week.
