Huntly 4

Bervie U15 0

THIS Scottish Cup tie was played at Huntly on a rain-soaked Sunday. One pitch was declared unplayable and the second was not much better.

Bervie pushed from the start and Laurenson and Smith sent close.

Walker saved a free-kick, then from a breakaway, Smith was halted when the ball held up in a pool of water on the pitch.

Huntly took the lead when a free-kick came back off the post and was scrambled home.

With the wind and rain behind them, Huntly pushed forward and only some stout defending kept them at bay.

Huntly went 2-0 up when a corner was scrambled home.

Bervie lost Morrison with a knee injury, then from another corner, Huntly made it 3-0.

Making matters worse for Bervie, keeper Walker suffered a knee injury and Tom Montgomerie had to go in goal.

Laurenson went close from an Adam Smith pass and with Chris Dandie tireless in midfield, Bervie never gave up.

Five minutes from time, Huntly completed the scoring.
