Mearns Camera Club’s third Open Competition of the 2013-14 session was judged on Monday night at their first weekly meeting of 2014.

Held in Stonehaven Community Centre, it was judged by Bob Humphreys, chairman of Donside Camera Club.

He had judged Mearns club competitions before, and said he enjoyed looking at the work and found them interesting and good fun.

Bob outlined his judging criteria saying he always looked first for pictures that made an immediate impact before studying them more closely in terms of composition, focus, detail etc..

He also added that the standard was very high with a lot of quality images on view while his comments on the images were insightful and mainly supportive.
