It’s all green lights for this weekend (July 7-10) as the Stonehaven Folk Festival takes place for its 28th year, with over 50 acts set to play.
Festival organiser Charlie West, said: “It is looking great for this year, the Town Hall concerts are sold out but there is still plenty to do.
“We have more international visitors this year with a lot of interest from the USA.
“The late concerts at the Legion are very popular and most of the Festival guests will also be playing a short set at the free concerts in the Market Square.”
There is also a comprehensive workshop programme being held in the Community Centre as well as many family friendly activities such as Artie’s Tartan Tales on Saturday afternoon and a family ceilidh on Sunday afternoon.
Festival favourites The World Paper n’ Comb Championships and the Aqua Ceilidh are also sure to make for a fun weekend.
There will also be hosted sessions for both songs and tunes as well as the many informal and impromptu sessions around the town.
